Chefchaounia
She sits against a wall in a narrow street of Chefchaouen. In front of her, fresh herbs laid directly on the ground. A quiet, repetitive work, done every day.
When she noticed the camera, she lowered her head. Not out of refusal, but out of modesty. She chose not to be seen. Her straw hat covers her face, a way to keep her distance. To continue without interrupting the gesture.
This drawing speaks of women from the north who are present everywhere, yet rarely looked at. Of those who occupy space without seeking attention.
Chefchaouniya is a tribute to discretion: To a quiet strength that does not need to be seen to exist.
